Privacy policy
Effective date: October 24, 2026
ZeusCoffer helps you plan your money: your accounts, bills, budgets, goals and what's left at the end of the month. This policy explains what information ZeusCoffer uses, where it goes, how long it's kept and what you can do about it. It covers the ZeusCoffer iPhone app and the ZeusCoffer website.
ZeusCoffer is run by Iyanuoluwa Eyinade ("we"), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Questions or requests: support@zeuscoffer.com.
The short version
- You choose what goes in. ZeusCoffer never connects to your bank. You type entries, import statements you pick, or set up optional Shortcuts automations yourself.
- Statements, receipts and photos are read on your device. The files are never uploaded. Only the entries you keep are saved.
- Your data is saved to your account. The iPhone app needs an account, so your plan is stored on our servers and is the same on your phone and the website.
- AI is optional. It's used only when you turn it on and ask. It sees names and amounts it needs, never account numbers, documents or sign-in details.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling your data. We don't use advertising or analytics tools, and we don't share your information with data brokers.
- You can export or delete your data at any time.
1. What we collect and why
Your account
- Email address and password. To sign you in, reset your password and send the emails described in section 5. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider and stored only as a secure hash. We never store it ourselves; when you delete your account, it's sent to our server once to confirm it's you.
- Your name and setup answers. The name you give and your answers during setup (such as your province or state, pay schedule and starting balances), saved with your account so setup works on every device.
- Settings saved with your account. Whether you agreed to AI, which tips you've dismissed and your email choices.
Your money information
What you enter or import: accounts and their balances, payments and income, bills, budgets, goals, debts and pay. Account names are the ones you type; ZeusCoffer doesn't ask for full account or card numbers.
- It's saved to your account on our servers, so it's the same on your phone and the website. A copy is also kept on your phone so the app opens quickly.
- On the website you can try ZeusCoffer without an account; anything you enter then stays in your browser and isn't sent to us.
Statements, receipts and photos
When you import a bank or card statement (CSV, PDF, OFX or QFX) or photograph a receipt or payslip, the file is read on your device. It isn't uploaded to us or anyone else. Only the entries you choose to keep (date, description, amount) are saved. On the website, a receipt's entry keeps up to the first 500 characters of the text read from it as its description.
The app asks for access to your camera and photos only when you choose to photograph or pick a receipt, and uses Face ID only if you turn on the app lock. Face ID is handled by your iPhone; ZeusCoffer never receives your face data.
Automatic logging with Shortcuts (iPhone, optional)
ZeusCoffer has two Shortcuts actions: "Save an expense to review" and "Save a bank alert to review". Nothing happens unless you build an automation in Apple's Shortcuts app that uses them, for example when you pay with Apple Pay, or when a notification arrives from the bank apps you pick.
- ZeusCoffer then gets only what Shortcuts hands it: for Apple Pay, the amount, merchant and card name; for a bank alert, the alert's text, title and the app it came from.
- ZeusCoffer can't read your notifications, messages or email on its own, and has no background access to them.
- Each item waits in the app's storage on your phone until you next open ZeusCoffer. Then only the amount, merchant, date and matching account are kept, as an entry for you to review, and the alert's text is deleted.
- Kept entries are saved to your account like any other if you're signed in. Signing out or erasing the phone's data deletes anything still waiting.
- To stop, turn the automation off or delete it in Shortcuts.
AI features (optional)
Ask Zeus, AI summaries (such as the weekly recap and account alerts), category suggestions for new payments, finding unfamiliar merchants and tidying your categories work only when you're signed in and have agreed to AI in the app. When you use them:
- What's sent: your question, and the facts ZeusCoffer works out to answer it: names you've given (accounts, goals, budgets, categories, bills, debts, pay and merchants), amounts, dates and counts. ZeusCoffer calculates every figure; the AI only explains them.
- To suggest categories, the description of each payment being sorted (as your bank wrote it, up to 160 characters) and your category names are sent. If a merchant still isn't recognised, the AI may search the web for that description to find out what the business is; nothing else about you is included in the search.
- What's never sent: account or card numbers, statement files, receipts, photos, or your sign-in details. AI can't move money or change your plan.
- Who processes it: OpenAI, as our service provider. We ask OpenAI not to store requests (
store: false). OpenAI says it doesn't use API data to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. - Ask Zeus conversations are kept in your account for up to 60 days, so you can see them on your other devices. You can delete a conversation at any time. Older ones are no longer shown and are deleted from our servers within a day.
- To stop, turn AI off in Settings. Nothing is sent to AI while it's off.
Emails
- Account emails: confirming your email, resetting your password, and a welcome message. These are part of the service.
- Optional emails, off unless you turn them on: setup tips (sent once, a few days after you sign up) and a weekly check-in. The weekly check-in includes your income and spending totals only if you turn on "Include weekly totals"; it never includes descriptions or accounts.
- Every optional email has an unsubscribe link, and you can change them in Settings. We use your phone's time zone to send the weekly check-in on Monday morning your time.
Reminders
Bill, debt and statement reminders are notifications scheduled on your phone. On the lock screen they don't show bill names or amounts. A copy of reminders you've received is kept in your account for up to 60 days so you can see them on your other devices. ZeusCoffer doesn't use push notifications.
Merchant logos
For well-known merchants, the app and website load the merchant's logo from a logo service (favicon.im). The request includes the merchant's web address (for example, a streaming service's domain) and, like any web request, your IP address. It doesn't include amounts or who you are.
2. What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for advertising.
- We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We don't connect to your bank or read your bank accounts.
- We don't read your notifications, messages or email, except what you choose to send through your own Shortcuts automation.
3. Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run ZeusCoffer for us, each only for that purpose:
| Provider | What for | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Sign-in, database and server functions | Your account and, if signed in, your money information and Ask Zeus history |
| OpenAI | AI features, only when you use them | Your questions and the facts described in section 1 |
| Resend | Sending emails | Your email address and the email's content |
| Vercel | Hosting the website | Standard web request data, such as your IP address |
| favicon.im | Merchant logos | A merchant's web address and your IP address |
| Google Fonts | The website's typeface | Standard web request data |
| jsDelivr | Reading payslip photos on the website | Standard web request data (the photo stays in your browser) |
| Apple | App Store, Face ID and Shortcuts | As described in Apple's own privacy policy |
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of ZeusCoffer, in which case this policy continues to apply.
These providers may store information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. Your account and synced data are stored by Supabase in Oregon, USA (AWS us-west-2).
4. How long we keep it
| Information | Kept |
|---|---|
| Your account and money information | Until you delete them or your account |
| Ask Zeus conversations and received reminders | Up to 60 days |
| Daily AI usage counts (for fair-use limits) | 30 days |
| Records of saves (to prevent duplicates) | 30 days |
| Sent emails' addresses and content | 7 days |
| Unsubscribes and bounced addresses | Kept as a one-way scrambled code (hash) of the address, with no link to your account, so we never email it again |
| Anything kept only on your device | Until you delete it, sign out or erase the app's data |
5. Your choices and rights
- See and export your data. The iPhone app exports your payments (CSV) and everything (JSON) through the share sheet. The website downloads a full backup.
- Correct it. Edit or delete any entry in the app.
- Delete your account. In the iPhone app: Settings › Export & your data › Delete account. This deletes your account and everything saved with it on our servers, and clears the copies on that phone. Files you exported aren't affected. On the website, email support@zeuscoffer.com and we'll delete your account.
- Clear a device. Signing out clears your account's copy from the phone.
- Withdraw consent. Turn AI off in Settings, unsubscribe from optional emails, turn off automations in Shortcuts, or turn off camera, photos or Face ID access in iPhone Settings.
- Ask us. Email support@zeuscoffer.com to access, correct or delete your information, or to ask a question. We'll answer within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
6. Security
Connections to our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Each person's data on our servers is kept separate by access rules in the database, so only your signed-in account can reach it. On the iPhone, your sign-in is kept in the system keychain, the app can be locked with Face ID or your passcode, and balances are hidden in the app switcher. The rest of the data on your phone is protected by your iPhone's own security; we don't claim to encrypt it separately. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
7. Children
ZeusCoffer isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email support@zeuscoffer.com and we'll delete it.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how your information is used, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
